Paul Connors was born in Boston, Massachusetts, the son of an artist and an engineer. Perhaps this explains his fascination with all things mechanical and artistic?

Growing up in the suburbs of Boston, he also had the good fortune on spending his summer vacations with his grandparents who owned a summer cottage on a lake in Maine. Following high school, he returned to Maine to work as a marine engineer.

While engineering a fleet of three charter vessels in southern California, he began taking his interest in photography more seriously. So he returned to university earning a Bachelor's Degree from California State University Long Beach. While at CSULB, he spent a semester studying at the Carl von Ossietzky Universität in Oldenburg, Germany. There he interned as a photojournalist with the Deutsche Presse Agentur (the German Press Agency) in the picturesque city of Bremen.

Following graduation, he returned to New England to begin his photo career working as a contract photographer with the

Associated Press. Editorial work has meant Connors has been able to be the "eyes on the scene" for breaking news and major feature events, providing compelling, story-telling images for the members of the AP's network. He has covered a wide range of historic events for a wide variety of publications throughout the world. He has covered major breaking news situations, such as the disappearance of John F. Kennedy Jr., and the tragedy of six firefighters killed in the line of duty. Also he has photographed major sporting events including the World Series, Super Bowl and many other national and international tourneys in all types of athletic competition.

His experiences made him an ideal candidate to teach. As an adjunct professor of photojournalism at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University, Connors has passed his wealth of knowledge to the next generation of photographer.

He is currently working in multi-media platforms, having earned a Master's Degree in Media Studies from Rhode Island College.
